“ My husband and I come here everytime we're in town! They have the best fries and sweet tea. The service was awesome like it always is, the only down side is if you have a large group like we did, then you'll be eating outside with all the patrons waiting to be seated. ”
“ This restaurant was recommended to us by locals, and I'm so glad they did!! What a gem! I ordered the steak salad without onion and my bf ordered the hamburger steak that he had been craving. Everything was excellent! I ordered a drink called the Wipeout-it's very sweet- which I loved! I would highly recommend a visit! It still has the vintage 1970s vibe, it seems to be a staple restaurant in the area. I loved the seasoning that was on the table! ”
“ Everything was delicious! Despite a full parking lot, we didn’t wait long for a table. Chicken wings were huge and the veggie sides were seasoned well. My burger was gigantic and topped with everything. The appetizer potato skins were fresh and very cheesy-definitely sharing size! The staff was very friendly and attentive. Our drinks were always full of delicious strawberry lemonade that had actual strawberries. Very affordable and large portions. Highly recommend. ”
“ We went here last night for a very first time but we just picked up food and took it home and ate there. I totally agree with what everybody else is saying me and my husband went ahead and tried the shrimp sandwich it was amazing there was so much shrimp and so many French fries I literally only took three bites out of my sandwich before I was full. One of my daughters had a fried chicken sandwich she loved it she had bought a sandwich from KFC the night before and said that she didn't get full off of it she was full of this one and she said it was very good. My other daughter got the chicken tenders and french fries and it look delicious she said it was very good. All in all we were very happy with our food they give you a lot of food for the amount that you pay you get your money's worth. Everybody up there was very nice does too they were welcoming it felt good. There's places you walk in sometimes and the people are mean and rude and it makes you just want to turn around and walk out and not give them your service but not this place they're sweet they're nice they're welcoming and their food is amazing and there's plenty of room for whoever wants to come or bring their family. You can also get drinks they have a bar in here the drinks look really good too. Come check the Brown Lantern out so far the best place I've ate at in Live Oak. Also the fried were very good too. ”
“ If you’re passing through Live Oak, Florida and want a spot with character, the Brown Lantern is worth a stop. The place has this rustic, Indian smoke shop kind of vibe — vintage Americana mixed with lodge-style charm. There’s so much on the walls and around the space, you’ll be tempted to walk a lap or two just to take it all in. #BrownLanternLiveOak #LiveOakEats #FloridaRoadTrip #RusticDiningVibes #HiddenGemsFL #SuwanneeCountySpots The food? Solid — above average but not quite exceptional. Still, it’s satisfying and comforting, especially paired with the welcoming atmosphere. What really stands out, though, is the service. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm — the staff makes you feel right at home. It’s the kind of place where you want to sit back, relax, and just chill a while. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, the Brown Lantern is a laid-back spot with a lot of heart. ”
“ I am Southern. I felt at home. Perfectly nreaded and fried scallops, fish, and onion rings. Perfect tea. Amazing ambience. I am a foodie and have eaten my across the US and into Europe. Yes, I am portly and have invested heavily in my girth. The investment here was well worth it! Southern food with Southern charm and un the forgotten South where the North Florida accent flows as well as the service and food. Enjoy a delicious meal and enjoy a Southern treat - eat here. ”
“ I'm from out of town. A local recommended this place. I can't say enough good things about it. The server was super sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. She recommended the shrimp sandwich (pictured). Everything was hot and tasted super fresh. The beer was ice cold and the prices were in line with with the quality of the food and service. Next time I come through Live Oak I'll be stopping at the Brown Lantern. ”
“ I was in Live Oak on business and The Brown Lantern was suggested for our 6 person crew. Blew my expectations out of the water! The shrimp sandwich was recommended and it was amazing! Not to be overshadowed The red cabbage slaw was also incredible. Sweet tea to finish it off and I was impressed! Wings get an honorable mention, they looked super crispy. Service was friendly and fast. Lots of cool Americana all over the interior, a pickers dream for sure. I’m definitely visiting the Brown Lantern EVERY TIME I come back to Live Oak. ”
